What is a roll-off dumpster?

A roll-of dumpster is a heavy-duty, open-top container for the easy on-location loading of items, trash and debris. They are easily moved and emptied as they are transported by special hydraulic equipped trucks that “roll-off’ the dumpster to a desired location. These highly mobile bins are typically used for short-term projects.

The size of your dumpster depends on the size of your project. Dumpsters are sized based on the number of cubic yards of waste they hold.

  • A 15 yard dumpster is 8 feet wide x 14 feet long x 4 feet high. It holds 15 cubic yards or approximately 2 tons of waste. This is roughly equivalent to filling up the bed of four pick-up trucks or 75-105 trash bags. (Two tons of weight is included in our 15 yard dumpster rental price.)
  • A 20 yard dumpster is 8 feet wide x 16 feet long x 8 feet high. It holds 20 cubic yards or approximately 3 tons of waste. This is roughly equivalent to filling up the bed of six pick-up trucks or 100-140 trash bags. (Three tons of weight is included in our 20 yard dumpster rental price.)

Note:

  • 1 cubic yard = 3 feet wide x 3 feet long x 3 feet wide.
  • 1 ton = 2,000 lbs
  • Weight varies based on the type of waste.

Roll-off dumpster rental prices are based upon the following:

  • dumpster size
  • duration of rental
  • type of debris
  • weight of debris

Other dumpster fees may apply:

  • Overflow Fee: Any debris above the maximum fill line on an open top dumpster may incur this charge.
  • Overload Fee: Loads that exceed the included capacity weight of a roll-off dumpster are added for each additional ton.
  • Taxes: You will be charged federal, state and local taxes for your dumpster rental.

Roll-off containers make for a quick and easy way to dispose of unwanted trash, construction debris, and demolition materials. But don’t be so quick to throw just anything into your roll-off dumpster!

There are certain items that are not accepted in the dumpsters. These include, but are not limited to any waste item that is considered flammable, toxic, hazardous, or corrosive.

Examples include:

  1. Hazardous materials
  2. Tires
  3. Freon appliances
  4. Televisions
  5. Wet paint
  6. Chemicals
  7. Asbestos
  8. Batteries
  9. Oils (motor, industrial or drums)
  10. Gasoline (fuels and tanks)
  11. Railroad ties
